Seatoun Arts and Crafts

We are a group made up of painters, knitters, woodworkers, quilters and many more arts and crafts. We hold informal meetings every third Wednesday of the month from Feb to Nov between 7.30 and 9.30 where we hear of the work of local artists and crafters or learn a new craft at a ‘give it ago’ session. We welcome all new visitors and members, please contact Gillie on 04-3888056 for further information.

Wellington Dance and Performing Arts

We specialise in introducing children to the joy and benefits of dance with a wide range of preschool and beginner classes at Seatoun Village Hall. We offer ballet, jazz, contemporary, singing and acting classes for all ages.

Seatoun Charity Knitting/Crocheting

10am-12noon, every Thursday. Currently creating all sorts of goodies for the Neonates unit at Wellington Hospital. All welcome - great coffee and chat

Jamming/ percussion/ facilitated music sessions

at St Christopher's church in Seatoun on Thursdays for musically hungry folk of all ages and abilities.Step inside the church on a Thursday and find yourself surrounded by the most amazing selection of instruments! Join Andreas (percussionist/ tutor/ facilitator) for one of his fun packed creative musical jamming sessions.... Tai Chi with Ferne McKenzie

Having a break until October 2017. I teach Tai Chi in the community to people of all ages. Tai Chi improves fitness, balance, coordination and flexibility. It reduces stress levels and promotes calmness and happiness. It is also fun to do.

 Dance Just Dance

a loosely facilitated expressive movement happening where you have the freedom to “dance like no one is watching” in a safe, comfortable, supportive environment to a variety of fresh upbeat tunes on a naturally sprung wood floor. Wear what you want, arrive and leave when you like. 
At the charming Seatoun Village Hall, on the corner of Forres Street & Ventnor Avenue
Last Wednesday of the Month : Wednesday August 30th, then September 27th, October 25th, & November 29th 
Open door policy you can drop in, come and go anytime between 6:45 and 8pm
We take music requests…this is for all of us to enjoy so do suggest your fave songs in any genre.
Here is our loose schedule.
6:45-7:00pm …time to get the feel for the space, chat, make friends, catch up, socialize
7-7:15 pm guided warm-up …easy to follow aerobic warm-up to fun music getting bodies loosened up ready to unleash you’re your own creative moves
7:15-7:55 -house lights dimmed, mood lighting on allowing you to loosen up and let yourself get lost in the rhythm, expressing through your movement purely for yourself and the joy of the moment.
7:55 - cool down time, stretch out and say so long till next month
Wear layers of comfy easy to move in clothes…footwear or not is up to you…the wood floor is easy on your body.
Bring water bottle, $5 cash and be ready to have fun!
